The installation methods of linear guides mainly include the following:
● Installation of the reference side guide:
Use the assembly screws to roughly fix the bottom reference surface of the linear guide to the bottom assembly surface of the bed, and then use a vise to press the side reference surface of the slide rail to the side assembly surface of the bed. After determining the position of the slide rail, use a torque wrench to tighten the fixing screws in sequence to press the bottom reference surface of the slide rail to the bottom assembly surface of the bed.
● Installation of the driven side guide:
Linear block gauge method: Place the linear block gauge between the two linear guides, use a micrometer to calibrate the linear block gauge so that it is parallel to the side reference surface of the reference side slide rail, and then calibrate the driven side slide rail according to the linear block gauge, starting from one end of the guide rail and tightening the assembly screws in sequence with a specific torque.
Mobile platform method: Fix the two sliders on the reference side on a measuring platform, and only install one slider on the driven side. Use the micrometer attached to the top surface of the driven side slider to measure the side reference surface of the driven side slider. Start calibration from one end of the guide rail and tighten the assembly screws in sequence with a specific torque.
Imitating the reference side guide method: Fix the two sliders of the reference side linear guide and one of the sliders of the driven side guide on the platform, and then roughly fix the guide rail and the other slider of the driven side to the bed and the platform respectively. Move the platform based on the reference side guide. Starting from one end of the slide rail, confirm the rolling resistance of the driven side linear guide while tightening the assembly screws in sequence with a specific torque.
Special tool method: Use professional tools to determine the position of the driven side slide rail, and tighten the assembly screws in sequence with a specific torque.
● Preparation and precautions before installation:
Before starting installation, make sure the work surface is clean and free of dirt. Use cleaning oil to wipe the anti-rust oil on the linear guide, and apply lubricating oil to prevent rust.
Clean the mounting surface to ensure that it is free of oil and dust. Measure the dimensions to ensure that the guide rails and sliders are installed in the correct position.
Use a level and ruler to check the straightness and levelness of the guide rails, and make fine adjustments if necessary to ensure that the height of both ends of the guide rails is consistent to avoid tilting.
● Inspection and maintenance after installation:
Check the straightness and smooth movement of the guide rails to ensure that there is no jamming. Adjust the tension to ensure the accuracy and stability of the movement.
Regularly check the wear of the guide rails and sliders, keep them clean, and avoid the accumulation of oil and dust. Add lubricating oil regularly to extend the service life.
