Linear guide installation process details
First, a comprehensive inspection and cleaning before installation
Component quality inspection: visual inspection of the rail body, slider, ball, etc. whether there is bumping, deformation or corrosion, to ensure that the raceway is smooth and undamaged, check the model number is consistent with the drawings.

Deep cleaning: use anhydrous ethanol with a dust-free cloth to wipe the installation surface (such as equipment base, bracket), the bottom surface of the guide rail and the inside of the slider, thoroughly remove oil, iron filings and antirust agent, to avoid impurities affecting the accuracy of the installation.
Second, the positioning and fixing of the reference guide
Bracket leveling: locate the mounting bracket of the reference rail according to the drawing, calibrate the level of the mounting surface of the bracket with a level meter (error ≤ 0.02mm/m), and make sure that the bracket is stable by adjusting the shims or ground bolts.
Guide pre-installation: Lightly put the reference rail on the bracket, align the screw holes and pre-tighten the bolts at both ends with your fingers (not tightened), use a rubber hammer to tap the side of the rail, so that the reference surface is tightly attached to the bracket positioning surface (using the side of the guide rail to locate the tabs to assist).
Bolt fastening: gradually tighten the bolts from the middle to the ends of the guideway, using torque wrenches according to the specifications of the force (such as M5 bolt torque 6-8N・m), to avoid deformation of the guideway due to uneven force.
Third, the parallelism of the slave rail calibration
Positioning distance: Place the slave rail on the bracket and keep the designed distance from the reference rail.
Parallelism Measurement: Fix the meter on the base rail slider, push the slider to move all the way, monitor the distance deviation between the side of slave rail and the meter, and adjust the parallelism to ≤ 0.03mm/m after fixing the bolts.
Fourth, the accurate installation of the slider
Slider into the rail: the slider will be smoothly aligned with the guide rail raceway, gently push to fully engaged (to avoid forcible extrusion resulting in ball dropout), to ensure that the slider internal ball and the guide rail raceway close fit.
Multi-slider adjustment: If there are many sliders installed side by side, it is necessary to control the spacing evenly through the positioning pin or block to ensure synchronized movement.
V. Precision calibration and running test
Straightness test: the percentage meter is fixed on the base, the head touches the top surface of the guide rail, manually push the slider to move all the way, record the deviation of the reading (≤ 0.05mm / full length), and adjust the height of the guide rail by adding or subtracting shims when it exceeds the deviation.
Smoothness verification: manually push the slider reciprocating movement, feel whether the resistance is uniform, listen to any jamming or noise, if there is any abnormality need to check the installation of the guide rail skewed or over-tightening of the bolts.
Load test run: run 5-10 strokes at low speed (5-10mm/s) when no load, monitor the noise (≤60dB) and temperature rise (≤50℃ on the surface of the guide rail); gradually loaded to the rated condition, observe the vibration of the components and running stability.
Sixth, lubrication and protection system settings
Lubrication program:
High-speed light load: inject low-viscosity lubricant (e.g. ISO VG 32) through the lubrication hole of the slider, and replenish it once every 50km of operation.
Low-speed heavy load: apply lithium grease (NLGI grade 2), cover the raceway evenly, and maintain every 3 months.
Protective installation: add dustproof end caps at both ends of the guideway, and choose steel belt, organ type or telescopic shield according to the environment to ensure good sealing and non-interference with the movement of the slider.
Seven, the key review after installation
Bolt torque sampling: use torque wrench to randomly check 20% of the bolts to ensure that no loosening of the tightening.
Protective sealing inspection: manually pull the shield to make sure that it is firmly installed, not damaged, and no friction with the slider movement.
Parameter Record: Record the data of current and speed fluctuation during the trial operation, and establish the equipment maintenance file.
